Capital Activity

Allocation rule overrides by event use in capital activity

We’ve released the ability to override allocation rules for given uses within a capital event! This adds additional flexibility to our capital activity workflows. With this update, users can customize allocation rules on a per-use basis, providing greater control and precision when managing capital events.

Under Capital Activity → Run Capital Event → Add Capital Call / Add Distribution

  • In distribution and capital call workflows:

    • New Allocation Details column shows the allocation rule

    • Users can click on the allocation rule and select Override to override the allocation rule for that specific transaction code / investment

More precise adjustments workflows

Users can now view and adjust fee basis impacting transactions and custom allocations at the commitment level. This update makes our custom adjustments workflows even more flexible, and allows users to make adjustments at the most granular level.

Under Capital Activity → Run Capital Event → Create Call → Continue to Investor Breakdown → three-dot menu → Define Custom Allocations by Investor Entity:

  • New toggle allows users to flip between viewing by Investor Entity and Commitment

  • New column to the right of each investor entity shows commitment amounts

  • Users can now make adjustments at the commitment level

Under Fees → Basis → Basis Impacting Transaction → Edit → Add Transaction → Refresh → View Investor Allocation:

  • New toggle allows users to flip between viewing by Investor Entity and Commitment

  • New column to the right of each investor entity shows commitment amounts

  • Users can now make adjustments at the commitment level

Updates to distribution tax withholdings

Some of our users wanted to be able to “refund” tax withholdings to LPs. To support this, we created the ability for users to upload withholding files with negative inputs per LP. When users enter a negative value for an LP's withholding, that value is added to the LP's distribution.

Under Capital Activity → Run Capital Event → Distribution → Add Withholding

  • Users can now enter negative values for withholding amounts in the excel upload

  • If users have entered negative values for withholding amounts, the system adds that value to the LP’s distribution
