In Context

In Maybern, management fee distribution methodology is defined under Fees configuration. The default is fee break distributions, which enables you to allocate a portion of distributions to investors with unique fee breaks to resolve open fee break amounts

You may change the configuration to support management fee holdbacks, which will enable you to view outstanding net fees and select which periods to deduct from distribution proceeds. To update the configuration, navigate to Configuration β†’ Fund Family β†’ Fees β†’ Management fee distribution methodology

This guide assumes the management fee holdbacks configuration

Step-by-Step

Follow the steps referenced in Run a Distribution & Waterfall to begin your distribution

On the page titled Add amount to distribution, Click Add Management Fee Holdback in the top right corner

Select time periods with fees available to hold back

You can also expand the Historical Fee Breakdown for a detailed view of outstanding fees by period. Expand the cells in the header column of each period to see calculations for outstanding fees

Under Fees Holdback $, specify the amount to be held back from the total distribution amount. Note that this amount cannot be larger than the total outstanding net fees available in the periods selected. If the total holdback amount entered is less than what is available, by default earliest time periods will be held back first

To cancel the management fee holdback, simply click Remove on the top right corner. To proceed with the distribution, click Continue to Investor Breakdown
