Summary Dashboard

Fund Metrics and Analytics

Coming soon – live the week of August 5th

We're introducing a fund-level summary dashboard to provide insight into the big-picture fund metrics that matter the most.

The initial version of this dashboard includes the below charts:

  • Historical IRR (Net & Gross) over time

  • Historical NAV over time

  • Current status of credit facility's borrowing base breakdown

  • Current status of funded vs. unfunded commitments

  • Capital movement over time (aggregate calls & distributions for each year of the fund's life)

  • Historical asset management fee accruals over time

We aim to continue expanding the insights and analytics included in this view based on feedback from our users.

Credit Facilities

Interest rate calculations for term borrowing

Users can now configure interest rate calculations using the following new reference rates: 1-month term SOFR, 3-month term SOFR, and 6-month term SOFR.

Under Configuration → Fund Family → Calculations → Add Custom Calculation → select Interest Rate & Advanced, users can now add new reference rates to the interest rate calculation:

  • 1_month_term_SOFR

  • 3_month_term_SOFR

  • 6_month_term_SOFR

These new reference rates are not automatically ingested by Maybern; users will input the reference rate later, when they post interest expenses.

Management Fees

New Fee Basis tab

We've introduced a new Fee Basis tab to allow users to get insight into their basis (and any events / transactions impacting their basis) at any point in time.

This update also separates the fee basis adjustment workflow from the fee posting workflow, so that users can post fee basis adjustments on an ad-hoc basis as these transactions occur, when previously adjustments could only be posted as part of fee postings themselves.

The Fee Basis tab provides insight into each basis component and the transactions that changed each basis component. Users can updated the View basis data by dropdown to see the basis information for any period.

Users also have the ability in the Custom Basis-impacting Transactions table to post transactions to Maybern that impact one or more components of their fee basis.

In the fee posting workflow, we’ve removed the Basis Adjustments step. On the Review fee basis step, we've added a tab for the Basis Dashboard.

Transaction Pivoting

Transaction Pivoting Beta

We've released a beta for transaction pivoting to give users the ability to build custom reports and answer one-off questions using Maybern data. We added a new Transactions tab to the top navigation menu.

This Transactions button navigates users to the page that includes all transactions in Maybern in your environment (across all fund families). Users can click on the protractor/ruler icon at the top right of the screen to create custom tables in Pivot mode.

Users can sum on the capital amount of each transaction, create new row and column groupings by dragging the available metrics down into the row groups and column groups sections, and filter the results / columns on a transaction pivot by navigating to the Filters tab on the right:

Events

Introducing the Events tab

We've released a new Events tab that allows users to view a list of all events processed in Maybern, and process a rollback of events if necessary.

Users can choose to view events across all fund families or at one fund family by selecting the All dropdown at the top left side of the table. The table can be filtered and sorted by Time, Action, Event Type, Subtype, Effective Date, State, and Fund Family for additional customization. Users can export custom tables into excel.

Upon clicking into a specific event, users can now see more details on the event and a table with all transactions that were written as a result of the event:

Users can also initiate rollbacks from the Events tab by clicking the Create Rollback button. This functionality is available to power users and above.

Users are required to first select the fund family they want to rollback for:

After selecting the fund family, users will be able to select the event they wish to rollback from. Selecting an event will automatically select all events that occurred after the selected event. Note that the system does not support rolling back transaction code configurations.

Hypothetical Waterfalls & Performance Metrics

Improved visibility into Net and Gross IRR over time

To improve visibility into trends in IRR over time, we've added two new columns for Gross and Net IRR on hypothetical waterfall events table where users can view all past hypothetical waterfall runs. This lives in the Financial Reporting module.

Additional flexibility for IRR configuration

We've released some updates to make IRR configurations more flexible for users.

Under Configuration → Fund Family → Transaction Codes → click three-dot icon in top right to edit:

  • We've updated the Net and Gross IRR transaction code configuration options to Actual , Equalized , or No Impact (previously, the only options were true or false).

  • We've added a checkbox column for Affects NAV

Usability & Other Improvements

Dynamic range totals

We've introduced the ability to highlight numerical cells in data tables to view key metrics on the selected data. The goal of this feature is allow users to more quickly audit and understand Maybern data. This capability exists on every read-only data table in the application.

Upon multi-selecting any number of cells with numerical inputs, users will notice the statistics at the footer of the table dynamically update to display the:

  • Cell count

  • Minimum value

  • Maximum value

  • Average (mean) value

  • Sum

Improvements to ILPA Notice exports

We’ve introduced some improvements to ILPA exports to make them more configurable and customizable.

  • Users can now customize the “reason for variance” field in Section D of notices.

  • We added the following transaction codes to the ILPA mapping:

    • Capital Contribution - Bridge Equity

    • Capital Contribution – Capitalizable Expenses

  • We added “Confidential and Trade Secret. Not Intended for Distribution.” to the left of the header.

  • We added the ILPA logo to the top right of the template.

Transfer Summary page improvements

We've updated the Transfer Summary screen at the Review Transfer step of the investor transfer workflow to highlight key information and improve user experience.

  • The Transferor Summary and Transferee Summary tables now include NAV Transferred and NAV Received

  • The Historical Transactions Summary table now includes Capital Transactions Impacted by Transfer

  • We've added a new Transferred NAV Summary table

    • This table shows all P&L components by recipient to clearly display the total NAV transferred
